Today Clearspeed announced its $60M series D funding, led by Align Private Capital, with participation from IronGate Capital Advisors, Bravo Victor Venture Capital, and KBW Ventures. We’re also honored to have General David H. Petraeus (US Army, Ret.) join as a multi-round investor.

As we charge towards our next phase of growth and impact, I’m taking a moment to reflect on our journey to date, and why Clearspeed is fundamental to a more secure, fair, and trust-enabled future.

Our vision is to support the enterprise and government organizations we serve in addressing some of their toughest challenges in a complex and changing risk landscape - whether tackling insurance fraud and payments scams, securing the border, or protecting our service men and women at home and abroad - by getting to trust, faster.

This investment reinforces that our mission - and Clearspeed’s irreplaceability - is irrefutable. It’s the jet fuel on a movement. We’re not iterating on a candlestick to create a light bulb - we’re on to something entirely new. We’re building the infrastructure of trust for sectors where failure isn’t an option, by fundamentally addressing the complexity of human risk to create a trust advantage.

The past year was a true breakout moment for Clearspeed, in which we more than doubled our ARR, architected our core technology’s risk analytics engine to deliver at sub-30-seconds, and 3xed our active client roster. This round of funding opens up more opportunities for us to accelerate what matters most to our clients and the outcomes we deliver:

Product innovation: We’re investing heavily in continuous improvement of our proprietary voice-based analytics, in parallel with executing against our roadmap to bring more fit-for-purpose capabilities to the markets we serve.

Market expansion: Bolstering our robust strategy already in place, we’ll deepen penetration in the UK and US financial services, insurance, and government and defense sectors, and expand into new geographies. Our funding also fuels expansion to new industries and use cases in which achieving trust at scale is essential.

Scalable growth: Importantly, we’ll also invest in our teams and technology infrastructure to keep pace with demand, and continue to serve our clients and partners globally as their trusted partner in risk assessment and trust enablement.

We founded Clearspeed with a singular vision to create a better world through trust enablement. Is it provocative? Sure. Is it critical? Absolutely.

What if we changed the long-standing paradigm of having to trade off between rapid risk mitigation and security? In short, what if we could quickly and confidently recognize the flash before the bang? Philosophically and practically, this model is the future - and its only dependency is a bridge of trust.

At the end of the day, as the world turns and technology evolves, human risk will always remain. But in today’s climate, bad actors don’t always present as such. Complexity and sophistication of technology makes bad actors even harder to identify, while models and predictors based on historical data or patterns are just that - historical. Today’s systems to identify risk are outdated, time-consuming, incomplete, and expensive - and impair both your own resources and the genuine majority of customers you serve.

Now, more than ever, the ability to assess who can be trusted is a strategic and tactical advantage. And to do that, we need a moment-in-time risk signal that’s not available anywhere else. That’s where Clearspeed is focusing its market disruption.
